Battlin'Bots - Robotics Club

Battlin’Bots is a real engineering activity, building "problem solving" and critical thinking skills. It is popular with students in grades 4-8 but suitable for high school level as well.

This activity is free for members during member hours, typically Fridays 6-8 pm, Saturdays 10:00-noon, and Game Night Saturdays 4-9 pm. We also offer Battlin'Bot Birthday Parties in a 2-hour block on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Build “Battlin’Bots" using motors, wood, metal, and found materials. Work by yourself or in teams of two to brainstorm a design, solve problems, and remote control your bot in a safety-shielded arena. When bots are ready, they can battle, two at a time. Repair your bot and battle again and again.

We provide the basic materials for your first bot as part of your membership - two drive motors, platform, wires, and hardware. Later you may add up to two more motors. Additional materials may be purchased from us or you can bring items from home.

We provide a plastic shoe-box size container to keep your bot here so you can work on it any time you come in.  If you abandon your bot for more than 6 months, or cancel your membership, your bot may be disassembled to recycle parts and make room for other students' containers.

Check out some Battlin'Bots highlights on our NESciTech YouTube Channel.

If dropping off a child for this activity, please fill out the Workshop Student Permissions Form.
