HomeNortheast HamXposition - Marlborough MA

2025 DATES! – August 22-23-24, 2025 in Marlborough, MA.

The Northeast HamXposition, aka HamX, is held at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center, 181 Boston Post Road, Marlborough, MA on the fourth weekend of August. The event attracts hobbyists, makers, science and STEM enthusiasts, school and scout groups, and amateur radio operators from all over New England. Your admission ticket is good for all three days.  Come join us!

NEST, STARS, and NEWBS will attend HamXposition 2025

New England Sci-Tech (NEST), Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society (STARS), and New England Balloon Society (NEWBS) participate in the Northeast HamXposition in Marlborough each year.

We will host booths in the Atrium on Fri-Sat-Sun, Kit Building Workshops on Fri-Sat, youth presentations of their NEWBS balloon flight projects, youth presentations of their Cubes in Space projects, and the Youth Forum on Saturday at noon.

STARS/NEST will help supervise youth members on Saturday if parents can't stay with them for the day. Scouts must have their own parents or leaders for supervision.

STARS will have several Club Tables at both the Friday Dinner and the Saturday Grand Banquet. Youth and Scouts are encouraged to join us. Select "STARS" table when you purchase your banquet reservations.  (Dinner ticket purchasing closes August 11th.)

NEST reimburses youth/scout admissions and banquet tickets. See HamX - Youth Forum doc for details.

YOUTH and SCOUTS PARTICIPATION -- Parents/Leaders Please Read!

This HamX - Youth Forum document is for all youth, scouts, parents, and leaders to read and discuss. There are specific sections that hopefully address any potental concerns. The Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society (STARS) is a youth and family club of NEST and therefore we want all attending youth to have a safe and enjoyable time.

What is New England Sci-Tech’s involvement at the convention?
NEST encourages its club members, youth, and scouts to attend the convention for the educational experience. NEST, STARS, and NEWBS host exhibitor booths in the Atrium to showcase our mission, host soldering workshops, host youth presentations of their NEWBS balloon projects and their Cubes in Space projects, and provide a central destination for youth and families looking for a place to gather and socialize during the day. NEST/STARS/NEWBS members also host the Youth Forum on Saturday.

What is the Youth Forum?
The Youth Forum is a tradition that NEST/STARS has hosted for many years. We invite school and college age youth to join a round-table discussion about their interests and experience in STEM, electronics, radio, and how they see wireless technology and ham radio in their future. This is an opportunity for youth to socialize and make new friends, and to learn from each other.
