OPEN HOUSE

We offer tours of the facility and answer questions at scheduled times or by appointment. Check our Event Calendar and REGISTER for a visit.

Check out the makerspace, meet R2D2, and take a tour. Bring the kids and other families.  You can hold a rock from outer space (meteorite), touch a dinosaur egg, or pick up Mars rocks with a simulated Mars Rover Arm!

Please note: our facilities and most programs are for grades 4 through adults and are not suitable for younger children. If you must bring a younger child on the tour, please supervise and do not allow them to wander or touch anything.

SPECIALIZED TOURS

Please peruse our web site to see all that we offer so your tour can be more productive. Here are some helpful links and best times to visit:

Home School - visit any weekdays or weekends. It is possible to join an existing 4-week home school session, but you can request to start a new session with your preferred topic in any available weekday time slot.

Amateur Radio - visit Tuesday evenings.  "Ham radio" is a hobby enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. See state-of-the-art electronics and learn how you and your family can get involved in this life-long hobby.

Rocketry interests - visit on a Sunday. During the warmer months we have rocket build sessions on Sundays when you can meet the club leaders and even begin a rocket of your own. First rocket is free for new youth members.

After School, Early Release Days, Summer, or Volunteering - visit any time.

Astronomy interests - attend a Public Telescope Night. We often offer a tour and a short planetarium show on those nights. Or visit any time.

FAQs

Q: How do MEMBERSHIPS work?
A: Please read the MEMBERSHIPS web page first, then ask specific questions. Advantages and categories are described. Special categories for Rocketry and Amateur Radio.

Q: As a Member, may I come in any time?
A: No, because we are not always open or often have rental groups, home school, or workshops scheduled and can't accommodate unscheduled walk-ins. Member hours are listed on the CALENDAR.

Q: During Member Hours may I request training?
A: You should take a WORKSHOP for specialized training. We have helpers who are generally available for everyone, so we expect members to be generally self-sufficient, have projects they want to work on, and require only occasional help.
