Students will learn about radio wave propagation, the electromagnetic spectrum, layers of the ionosphere, electronic circuits, radio operation, electrical safety, antennas, and so much more!
On Fridays, open members time is usually 6:00-9:00 pm. Earlier by appointment. Friday is sometimes also an After School Science Night 6-8 pm, separate signups required.

A specialized hands-on activity of NE SciTech‘s Space Science Club, specifically for students grades 4 and up who are members of NEST, we offer a program to teach students about radio astronomy, the electromagnetic spectrum, the atmosphere and ionosphere, satellites and how to track them, digital communications modes for space-based applications, and other topics in space science.
Saturday open houses are between busy times when the facility is in use by workshops and member hours, so you are likely to see many activities and can meet some of our Saturday volunteers.
Exciting engineering workshop hosted by the New England Weather Balloon Society. Students design and build a scientific payload that will fly to the edge of space aboard a high altitude balloon. This is the FULL version (see web page for details).

Learn how to solder electronics to make cool gadgets such as snowflake ornament, FM radio, crystal nightlight, spinning top, and more. Kit is included in the workshop price.
Woodworking Workshop for students in grades 3 though 9. Learn basic hand tools while making a practical or ornamental gift for someone‘s birthday or other special day. Single sessions, 4:15-5:45pm, sign up for each session you want, materials included.

Join us for stargazing with our large 12" diameter telescope. Free for the public on scheduled Friday or Saturday evenings, weather permitting. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Optional: BYO binoculars, warm jacket, hand sanitizer, bug repellent.

A specialized hands-on activity of NE SciTech‘s Space Science Club, specifically for students grades 4 and up who are members of NEST, we offer a program to teach students about radio astronomy, the electromagnetic spectrum, the atmosphere and ionosphere, satellites and how to track them, digital communications modes for space-based applications, and other topics in space science.
Saturday open houses are between busy times when the facility is in use by workshops and member hours, so you are likely to see many activities and can meet some of our Saturday volunteers.

Meets Nov 16 to Apr 12. A specialized activity of NE SciTech‘s Rocketeers Club, specifically for students ages 11-17, we join a program by the National Association of Rocketry (ARC) to teach students about the atmosphere, rocketry, general laws of physics, radio communications, and space science.

Sunday afternoons are good times to visit if you are interested in Rocketry, although anyone can tour at this time. During the warmer months we have rocket build sessions on Sundays when you can meet the club leaders and even begin a rocket of your own. First rocket is free for new youth members.

Single-session Laser Engraving Workshop: Learn how to use the Glowforge laser engraver to make gifts or ornaments. A parent and their child may work together on the same project for no extra charge. Single 1 hr sessions. Repeat as often as you like.

The Volunteer Examiner Team of New England Amateur Radio, Inc. (NEAR) offers regular in-person amateur radio license exams at New England Sci-Tech, 16 Tech Circle, Natick, MA.
Radio Club meets in-person and on-line. Please register by 6 PM if you are planning to attend in person so we can have a head count in case we will be ordering food. Otherwise, use the zoom link to join us on-line.
